If you are a regular internet user then you must have heard about RSS Syndication or RSS Newsfeeds or RSS feeds. The entire process of RSS Syndication can be divided into two steps. In the first step of RSS Syndication process, the publisher purchases a small text file that has a special format. After that he makes a list of internet articles and their URLs. In the second step, the consumer gets an access to aggregator for reading and displaying the content of simple text file.
These simple text files accessed by the users are linked to the web pages. Another possible way is that the consumer may visit a website which has an aggregator program and through that program the consumer may view the results as a web page. For example, if you become a member of a search engine, you can check the pages of any selected RSS feeds.
There are various versions of RSS available. Basically these versions have been introduced in different time periods such as the first version of RSS was 0.90 and it was known as RDF Site Summar. At that time RSS Syndication was not known with this name but it was known as Resource Description Framework. After this version of RSS, the other versions were introduced such as 0.91, 0.92, 0.93 and 0.94. Finally, people began to call it RSS and its 1.0 version was introduced. A completely different version of RSS was introduced as RSS 2.0.
RSS syndication is the application which is freely used by the people to get news about the content updates on the websites of their interest. It is not humanly possible to check the new updates of hundreds of websites daily, therefore, by using this application you will be able to get updates without making search. The websites which keep on changing their content many times a day can offer the services of RSS syndication. If a consumer subscribes to get RSS feeds of a particular website, then whenever the website will update its content, the consumer will get alerts.
Now you must be thinking about the websites who occasionally change content on their website such as when they publish their newsletter after a month. Nowadays, most of the websites are using the application of RSS syndication because it is free and it is accessible. Interestingly, by using a shared RSS, you can get collective updates of websites with different topic categories. The content of the websites of your interest will be provided under some topics.
Therefore, RSS syndication really offers good options to the consumers. So, if you want to keep yourself updated from latest contents on websites then you should go for RSS syndication.
