The time it takes for a computer to boot will generally slow down after time. The main reason for this is the addition of either more software, more hardware, or both. A boot time analyzer will monitor all of the software and hardware drivers that get loaded when your computer boots up. The boot time analyzer will then compile a report of all of those items and will inform you what items are critical and which ones are not. A boot time analyzer can even make suggestions as to which items can be safely removed and will also provide an estimated boot time based upon those recommendations. Depending upon your system, a boot time of around 30 seconds is obtainable and it's also reasonable. Most of the additional software pieces that slow down your computers boot time are not required for the booting of your computer. So these pieces of software can load upon request by the user, i.e., by clicking on the programs icon and executing it, after the computer has booted up. It's these types of programs that a boot time analyzer will suggest for removal from the boot process. So if you are unhappy with the time it takes for your PC to boot then you should consider a boot time analyzer. Boot time analyzers exist for just about any operating system and a simple internet search should return several results of appropriate boot time analyzer software for your operating system. Install the software, run a few boot traces and read up on how to configure the analyzer. Once you get the feel for what's going on you'll quickly be able to speed up the boot time of your computer.
So stop cursing your computer for being so slow to get up and going. Have your computer checked out, you'll both be happier. Use your favorite browser and search for boot time analyzer.
